Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf in critical health condition; Family reports ‘recovery is not possible’

His family tweeted the message following several speculations about the Pervez Musharraf passing away on Friday in a certain section of Pakistan media which created a lot of confusion, while several others denied the news.

New Delhi: Former President of Pakistan Pervez Musharraf has been hospitalised and in a critical health condition as his organs have been malfunctioning and “recovery is not possible,” reported his family.

The former Pakistan President’s Twitter had the message saying, “He is not on the ventilator. Has been hospitalized for the last 3 weeks due to a complication of his ailment (Amyloidosis). Going through a difficult stage where recovery is not possible and organs are malfunctioning. Pray for ease in his daily living.”

His family tweeted the message following several speculations about the Pervez Musharraf passing away on Friday in a certain section of Pakistan media which created a lot of confusion, while several others denied the news.

Pakistani media outlet Waqt News reported the demise of the 78-year-old Pakistani politician on their Twitter handle. However, the tweet has been deleted since then.

On the other hand, a senior Pakistani journalist reported that the news of Pervez’s demise is “not true.”

Musharraf was regarded as a fugitive in former prime minister, Benazir Bhutto murder case and Red Mosque cleric killing case. He had been living in Dubai since 2016 and was facing a treason case for suspending the Constitution in 2007.
