New Delhi: US President Joe Biden has often made mistakes during his speeches on various occasions in the past. But this time he disclosed something in his speech that left everyone shocked and worried.
Biden during a visit to Somerset in Massachusetts at a coal mine, claimed that he has cancer. The President was speaking about new executive orders to fight climate change.
The clip of his speech went viral on various social media platforms and left people divided on whether he said it by mistake or if he is actually suffering from the deadly disease.
Is Biden suffering from cancer?
In his speech, Biden was referring to his childhood days as he describes how emissions from oil refineries near his home had an effect on his health as well. He said that poisonous gas, smoke and greenhouse gas were released from such plants.
“My mother drove us rather than us being able to walk and guess what? The first frost, you know what was happening? You had to put on your windshield wipers to get literally the oil slick off the window. That’s why I – and so damn many other people I grew up with – have cancer and why for the longest time, Delaware had the highest cancer rate in the nation”, he said.

White House soon came to rescue and Deputy Press Secretary Andrew Bates later clarified that Joe Biden was referring to skin cancer, which he had treated before taking the office.
