New Delhi: While Pakistan battles political crisis following the ‘departure’ of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the apex court premises saw a heated altercation between Imran Khan’s aides and journalists.

The incident happened when Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) members were addressing a press conference outside the court. Fawad Chaudhury, a close aide & confidante of Imran Khan lashed out at journalists and hurled abusive jibes at them. Taking umbrage at treatment, the journalists returned the favour in same coin.

Fawad Khan spoke harshly to a journalist when the latter asked question about Farah Khan. Fawad, a former minister in Imran govt, got angry at the scribe’s question and called him ‘kiraye ka aadmi’.

Watch Video:

Farah Khan is a friend of Pak PM Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi and has been a hot topic of debate in the country. She escaped the country after being caught hand in gloves with top govt machinery in fanning corruption. She reportedly took bribes from officers for facilitating postings of their choice.

The former minister got uncomfortable when quizzed about Farah’s links with bribe-givers and in turn accused the scribe of ‘taking bribe for asking questions’.

The media persons took strong objection to his ‘Kiraye ka Aadmi’ remark and even boycotted the PTI leaders’ press conference.

Pakistan’s economy has been in throes of crisis as its economy has been in a state of constant decline. The rising prices & crippling debt has taken a big toll on people’s lives, leading to strong discontent against Imran dispensation.

The growing discontent against Imran govt prompted the Opposition to move a no-confidence motion. The House was about to vote on the motion but deputy speaker refused a debate on it.

The Pakistan Parliament was dissolved on Imran’s request, who even made a call for snap elections.
