New Delhi: After days of political turmoil and marathon rounds of bickering between parties, Shehbaz Sharif took over the reins of country. However, the grudge and bitterness hasn’t gone away. The political drama which started a month ago has now given way to public fights & brawls.

On Wednesday, supporters of ousted Pak PM Imran Khan and Bilawal Bhutto Zardari clashed at a plush hotel and could be seen hurling cup and plates at each other. And, this is not just a one-off incident. After Imran’s humiliating exit from power, his supporters have clashed with rival party’s supporters at a couple of places.

In this video, which has taken the social media by storm, the literate & educated class of Pakistan can be seen fighting with cups & plates.

Those exchanging blows in the video belong to Imran’s Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Bilawal Bhutto’s Pakistan People’s Party (PPP). The physical brawl began as an elderly supporter of Imran Khan took strong offence to a jibe by PPP supporters. In a fit of anger, he flung cups & plates at the rival party supporters and soon the plush hotel turned into a fighting ring. Both sides hurled cups & each other while some engaged in physical confrontation.

Despite being disgraced and dislodged from power, Imran has become a popular figure in Pakistan and his supporters have been holding demonstrations at various places to protest his ouster. This was also one of similar incidents.

In last few days, Pakistan’s political discourse has fallen to an ebb as rivals hit out at each other with venomous jibes. Imran dubbed the Opposition as traitors while latter pulled no punches in taking jibes at the then outgoing PM.
