New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid his last respect to former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe at the latter’s State funeral at Nippon Budokan Hall in Tokyo. Former Japanese PM Abe was shot during a speech in Japan’s Nara city on July 8th.

At the funeral, PM Modi was seen with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. Leaders from around the world arrived in Tokyo for the event.

According to the reports, more than 700 foreign guests have arrived for the state funeral of Shinzo Abe, which includes over 50 current or former state leaders.

Earlier today, PM Modi said, “India is missing former Japanese PM Shinzo Abe.”

Shinzo Abe was Japan’s longest-serving Prime Minister. He had stepped down from the position citing health reasons in 2020. He became the Prime Minister of Japan twice, from 2006-2007 and again from 2012-20.

Abe was succeeded by Yoshihide Suga and later by Fumio Kishida.
