New Delhi: Ending all the speculation of the media reports, Pop star Shakira and Footballer Gerard Pique officially announced that they have decided to get separated.
Confirming the development, the duo issued a joint statement, ”We regret to confirm that we are separating. For the well-being of our children, who are our utmost priority. we request respect for (our) privacy.”
Earlier, it was reported that the Barcelona defender was caught sharing a bed with another woman. Owing to this, Shakira decided to divorce Pique.
Reportedly, Pique was kicked out of his family home and the couple has been living separately for days.
However, it is yet to be decided who is going to get custody of both children. The reports also suggest there is no turning back as the 45-year-old actor and the 35-year-old footballer have started the official separation process in Barcelona.
Notably, Shakira married with Gerard in 2011 after taking a divorce from Antonio de la Rua in 2010. She is a famous singer worldwide and belongs to Colombia. She made her recording debut with Sony Music Colombia at 13 years of her age.
