New Delhi: A 17-year-old medical student from Haryana, refused to be evacuated from the capital city of Ukraine amidst the ongoing Russian military operations in the country.

As per a news report by PTC, Neha turned down the offer to being evacuated from war-torn Ukraine, as she wanted to support the family that provided her accommodation.

She told her mother,  a school teacher in the Charkhi Dadri district, “I might die or not, but I will not leave these children and their mother amidst such crisis”.

The family of Neha’s house owner is now left with three young kids their father joined the Ukrainian Army after the Russian invasion.

As per reports, Neha started living with this family of a construction engineer when she couldn’t find a hostel to stay in last year.

Currently, she is hiding in a bunker along with this family. She recently told her close friend over the phone, “We keep hearing blasts outside, but we are alright”.

A close friend of Neha’s mother, Savita Jakhar wrote on a Meta post, “I’m wondering how she’s getting the courage of standing with this family at such difficult times. She knows she can lose her life in this way but she’s not leaving the side of those children. She’s thinking more about the mother of those children than her own”.
