Tesla’s CEO Elon Musk reveals hiring of India-origin Ashok Elluswamy as first employee of Autopilot’s team

Elon Musk has revealed that Ashok Elluswamy, the Indian-origin engineer is the first to be hired for his electric vehicle company’s Autopilot team.

Apart from being the richest person in the world, Elon Musk is the CEO of Tesla Motors and SpaceX. The 50 years-old was seen actively using social media to recruit people has revealed that Ashok Elluswamy, the Indian-origin engineer is the first to be hired for his electric vehicle company’s Autopilot team.

“Ashok was the first person recruited from my tweet saying that Tesla is starting an Autopilot team!” tweeted Musk while replying to a video of his interview.

Besides, he informed that Ashok will be leading as the head of Autopilot engineering.

“Andrej is director of AI; People often give me too much credit and give Andrej too much credit. The Tesla Autopilot AI team is extremely talented. Some of the smartest people in the world,” he said.

Previously, Ashok was associated with Volkswagen Electronic Research Lab and WABCO Vehicle Control System.

Ashok has graduated in Electronics and Communication Engineering from the College of Engineering Guindy, Chennai while holding a master’s degree in Robotics System Development from Carnegie Mellon University.

Musk recently took to Twitter to announce that Tesla is looking for hard-working Artificial Intelligence (AI) engineers who care about solving problems that directly affect people’s lives.

The job application which was circulated was simple as it asked the candidates to fill fields like names, email, and exceptional work done in software, hardware, or AI. They also asked to drop resumes in PDF format.
