New Delhi: Soon after the resignation of the UK PM, the name of outgoing Prime Minister Liz Truss started trending at the top on Twitter. Under the hashtag, many people have been sharing funny memes targeting Truss. The hashtag has received over 46,000 tweets. Below the name Liz Truss, the hashtag namely Rishi Sunak also started trending on the social media platform.
Notably, Liz Truss also confirmed her resignation, making her the shortest-serving PM in the history of the UK PM. However, Truss will continue to hold her office till her successor take over the office.
On Twitter, Liz also informed everyone that she has spoken to his majesty the king and that she has decided to resign as Leader of the Conservative Party. She also said ”there will be a leadership election to be completed in the next week” to elect her successor.
