Ukrainian man moves landmine with bare hands while smoking cigarette (WATCH VIDEO)

New Delhi: Chaos and devastation continue as Russia’s invasion of Ukraine intensifies. However, amid all the hardships, heroes and sheroes of Ukraine have been making headlines from the very first day, standing against the Russian forces to protect their motherland. Videos of such civilians of Ukraine have made a special position in the heart of people across the globe. One such story of another Ukrainian man is again grabbing attention.

A video has been shared by an independent news resource named ‘The New Voice of Ukraine’ which shows a man wearing jeans and a black jacket crossing the street with the landmine in his hand, while he smokes a cigarette. He holds the landmine in his bare hands and placed it in a deserted nearby forest. The 38-second clip retaliated nothing but the courage of the man which could have taken a toll on his life and others.

“A Ukrainian in Berdyansk spotted a mine on the road and didn’t wait around for a bomb disposal unit – at great risk to life and limb, he removed the mine, clearing the way for the Ukrainian military, read the caption shared along with the video.

The video has been viewed more than 2.6 million times. Netizens were shocked by the bravery of the man and couldn’t resist but poured in praises for the Ukrainian man in the comment section. One of the users commented, “Removing a large heavy mine like this intended for a heavy vehicle to ride over and push down the button like mechanism, is far safer than messing with a smaller personal ordinance. Still, very brave. All the Ukrainians are.”

Meanwhile, a medical student from India was shot dead in Ukraine’s Kharkiv. Naveen Shekharappa Gyanagoudar was the 4th year student of Kharkiv National Medical University in Kharkiv. So far, more than half of a million people have fled from the war-torn country, as per UN’s refugee arm and at least 352 civilians including 14 children have been killed, according to Ukrainian authorities.
