New Delhi: Starting his journey as the heaviest man alive with 542 kgs, Khalid Bin Mohsen Shaari has seen a remarkable transformation to come back to normal life again. Shaari who weighed around 610 kg was bedridden for over three years. The disease matured at such a faster rate that he became dependent on his friends and family even for his basic needs.
However, just as things looked grim for Khalid, god sent an angel in the form of King Abdullah, who was the former king of Saudi Arabia. The former king saw the precarious condition of Shaari who was bedridden at that time and felt pity for the entire situation that was unfolding. Khaled was transported from his home in Jazan to King Fahad Medical City in Riyadh using a forklift and a specially designed bed. Along with this other medical aids are also set to be provided to Khalid Bin Mohsen Shaari who is looking to all excess fats.

What was the King’s offer?
To help Khaled, a dedicated team of doctors, nurses and other medical professionals chalked out a plan which included gastric bypass surgery and intensive physiotherapy sessions to regain his mobility after being bedridden for a long time. The entire transformation process for Khaled was carried out by leading Middle Eastern scientists.
Once the heaviest person alive and the second heaviest person in human history, Khaled’s transformation journey has been nothing less than that of a miracle. The young man lost nearly half of his body weight within six months. By 2023, the once 542kgs Khaled weigh only 63.5kg. The pace with which this transformation has gone was so rapid that Khaled had to undergo multiple skin surgeries which he required to remove the excess skin which was not being able to adopt to the new body shape.
However, a smiling Khaled won’t mind that as he saw a positive transformation from being the “heaviest man” to being the “smiling man”.
