Chaitra Navratri 2020, Day 7: Maa Kaal-raatri, the 7th form of Navdurga, whom the dark forces fear

With the Seventh Form of the Navdurgas – we approach the darkest form of Devi as she takes on the form of complete warrior goddess and is cleansing us of all our sins.

During this time of Navratri Celebrations, Renooji (Renoo Nirula), has enabled us with knowledge and mantras to connect to, understand, and invoke the energies of Devi. It is a Journey that the Guru Invites You to take with Surrender and Devotion. (Below are extracts from Renooji’s lectures on Devi, Shakti, Durga and her many forms to empower you further)

KAAL-RAATRI :

Kaal Ratri - Goddess Durga -

“The Goddess who is the scourer of darkness, where the dark forces fear her – she who shoots twinkling flames out of her eyes, she is destroyer of all our sins – burning the demoniac as she cools the devotee – she is the most violent form of Devi”

‘As the 9 Nights and 10 Days of Worshipping and Glorifying the Feminine Divine begin, with the Seventh Form of the Navdurgas – we approach the darkest form of Devi as she takes on the form of complete warrior goddess and is cleansing us of all our sins – are we prepared, do we truly understand what or rather who are these Nav-Durgas?
They are the key-expansions of the Feminine Divine in Hindu Folklore, our Myths, Legends and Vedic Hymns describe them as Warriors, Mothers, Progenitors, Protectors, and Keepers of ALL Human endeavour -be it in the spiritual or then material realms.

For many, these adjectives will never be enough, and hence they refer to her in her energy form – as SHAKTI! As all that is movement, kinetic and frenetic in this world and the next. She is the Masculine Divine in motion – she is that combustible nuclear energy ACTIVATED! That is what Shakti is, and to know her, touch her, taste her and see her, we must first begin by inviting her, and approaching her with love in our hearts. The best way to do this is through Mantra, and so, we are sharing here core mantras from the Navratri Chanting on the 7th of October, 2016 – led by Renooji. As we begin the mantra and meditation for the seventh Form of Durga – KAAL-RAATRI, we surrender our sins – of lust, of ego, of our material pleasures at her feet, so we may be rid of such thoughts and actions. To magnify our purpose let us connect to her dark as night form and chant :

II OM HOON-SAH II
Om Bhuurbhuvah Svah Tatsaviturvarenyam
Bhargo Devasya Dhiimahi Dhiyo Yo Nah Prachodayaat Om

Kaal Ratri - Goddess Durga -

‘Devi in this form is of black skin with bountiful hair, astride her faithful donkey she rides into the abodes of demons killing them before they can attack. She has 4 hands in this Eighth Form of Devi – in one hand she carries a torch – symbolic of her lighting the path away from darkness. The second-hand holds a cleaver that beheads all the demons – literally and metaphorically. The third hand is in a gesture of “giving” and the fourth hand is in a gesture of “protecting”. The destroyer of darkness and ignorance, Goddess KAAL-RAATRI blesses her devotees and Planet Earth with the abilities to destroy our negative karma from past lifetimes, thereby heading towards unlocking our highest purpose in this material life. As you move forward in your day to day activities connect to Devi in this form and bless yourself by letting go of the hurt, the pain, the revenge, the battles and the anger. Know that Devi is blessing you – so heal and move forward.’
