The world will witness the last solar eclipse of 2021 on December 4. The complete solar eclipse will be observed over Antarctica.

New Delhi: The last solar eclipse of this year will be witnessed on Saturday. The full eclipse will be visible from Antarctica. During the complete solar eclipse, the disk of the sun is fully covered by the moon. However, in partial or annular eclipses, only a part of the Sun is obscured.

Will the last solar eclipse of 2021 be visible in India?

The last solar eclipse of 2021 will not be visible in India. However, a partial solar eclipse will be experienced in parts of southern Africa including locations in South Africa and Namibia. 

Where will this solar eclipse be visible?

South in Australia, Africa, South America, Pacific, Atlantic, Indian Ocean, Antarctica.

When will the solar eclipse occur?

On Saturday, December 4, the last solar eclipse will begin at 10:59 AM. Besides, the total eclipse will start at 12:30 PM and the maximum eclipse will be experienced at 1:03 PM.

The eclipse will last for 4 hours and 8 minutes.

Notably, the eclipse should be observed with naked eyes, even for a very short time. It can cause permanent damage to the eyes leading to blindness, even though the moon covers most of the Sun.

Where and How to watch the last solar eclipse of 2021?

The skywatchers can observe the full solar eclipse through NASA’s live broadcast which will show the view from Union Glacier in Antarctica. The phenomenon will be live-streamed on NASA’s YouTube channel.
