
New Delhi: Maha Shivratri, on this day people devote themselves spiritually, emotionally, and mentally to Lord Shiva and his wife Mata Parvati.
On this day, devotees observe fast and perform puja to pleases Lord Shiva, he is also known as people’s Mahadev. It is believed that by pleasing Lord Shiva today, all the negativity will be removed from one’s life and you will be with joy and happiness.
As per the Hindu mythology, it is believed that unmarried people should keep the monthly Shivratri fast, by doing so, they will get Lord Shiva’s blessing to find a suitable life partner.
Also, on this day devotees visit temples to pay their respect to Lord Shiv. Devotees also chant mantra like-
“Mahadev, Bhole Nath, Vishwanath, Shanbhu and Shankara.”
This year Shivratri tithi will start from 3.16 am on Tuesday (March 1) and the Chaturdashi will end at 10 am on Wednesday.

For puja, you need some Belpatra, molly, sandalwood, clove, milk, curd, ghee, fruits and the most important is Dhatura.
