Solar storm expected to hit Earth today reports NASA

The solar storm is a phenomenon where electromagnetic eruptions from the surface of the sun take place resulting in a large number of particles flowing.

New Delhi: A solar storm is expected to directly hit Earth sometime on March 28, informed the National Aeronautics Space Agency (NASA). The solar storm is a phenomenon where electromagnetic eruptions from the surface of the sun take place resulting in a large number of particles flowing. NASA has reported that there is a risk of a strong solar storm colliding with the Earth’s atmosphere in the UK.

However, the difference of opinion between NASA and the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration on the timing of the collision of the solar storm with the Earth is worth noting. According to NASA, the collision with the Earth will take place at 6 AM on March 28, on the other hand, NOAA of America stated that this incident is estimated to take place 18 hours ago. In the areas of the UK, a bright glow can be seen during the hit.

When the solar winds will be entering the Earth’s magnetic field or atmosphere, the atmosphere will appear to fluoresce, which is commonly called Aurora Polaris. Besides, in the northern hemisphere, it is called Northern Light.

Popularly known as the “space weather woman,” Dr Tamitha Skov has predicted high-frequency radio issues and reception wherever it is time of day on any side of Earth when the storm hits.

Further, she stated that the impact of this collision may extend to mid-latitudes. When asked whether people will be able to see the bright light hitting the sky in a solar storm, she said, “It could be seen in rural areas of New York.”

Besides, the Aurora will be seen in New Zealand and Tasmania, the storm, will hit there in the evening. Owing to sufficient darkness, the possibility of seeing light can be created in these areas.
