Railways to run 40 pairs of new special trains from today

The Railways had started operating passenger trains since May after the coronavirus-induced lockdown in March this year led to a halt in operations.

New Delhi : The Indian Railways will be running 80 special trains from  Saturday (September 12), in a bid to cater to demand which will be in addition to the 230 special trains that are currently operating.

Earlier,  Railway Board Chairman Vinod Kumar Yadav said that “the Railways will run 40 pairs of new special trains from September 12. The reservation for these will begin from September 10.”

These 80 trains will be in addition to the already operational 230 trains across the country.
