32-year-old Entrepreneur Pankhuri Shrivastava talked about assessing candidates on Twitter before her demise

Entrepreneur Pankhuri Shrivastava passed away after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest on December 24.

New Delhi: Entrepreneur Pankhuri Shrivastava passed away after suffering a sudden cardiac arrest on December 24, spoke about the challenges of assessing candidates in a job interview a day before.

The 32-year-old was the founder of a women-centric community platform called Pankhuri. In the Twitter post, she added that the candidates appearing for the job interview appeared to be similarly prepared, knowing the “same hacks.”

Shrivastava taking to Twitter on December 23, wrote, “Is it just me or has it become really hard to evaluate a candidate’s potential in 1 hour interview. All seem to have read the same articles, know the same hacks from companies that are doing well & almost talk the same language! Are ref checks the only way?”

Shrivastava’s sudden demise came as a shock to her friends and professional network. Several venture capitalists and top executives mourned her untimely death.

Launched in 2019, Pankhuri, the Sequoia-backed woman–centric platform enables members to socialise, explore and upskill through live interactive sessions, expert chat, and interest-based clubs. The platform also helps them to take part in beauty and lifestyle conversations.

The start-up raised $3.2 million from Sequoia Capital India’s startup accelerator programme, Surge, and also from India Quotient and Taurus Ventures.

Shailendra Singh, the managing director at Sequoia Capital India took to Twitter to pay tribute to the late young lady on Twitter saying, “Pankhuri had so many ideas, insights, full of enthusiasm and creativity as a founder … We are still trying to process this huge loss. Heart-broken and numb.”

Shrivastava initially founded a rental start-up Grabhouse which was under the online classifieds company Quikr in 2016.

Shrivastava got married a year ago and celebrated her first anniversary by posting a picture with her husband on December 2.
