New Delhi: The new Income Tax portal was launched and went live at 8:45 PM on Monday. However, soon after the launch of new portal the users started filling social media with their 'feedback' about the glitches. Many users took to social media to register their complaints against the glitches they faced while filing the tax. Taking note of this, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman urged Infosys and its co-founder Nandan Nilekani to ensure that taxpayers are "not let down" in the quality of service being provided. She wrote, "The much awaited e-filing portal 2.0 was launched last night 20:45hrs. I see in my TL grievances and glitches. Hope @Infosys & @NandanNilekani will not let down our taxpayers in the quality of service being provided. Ease in compliance for the taxpayer should be our priority." https://twitter.com/nsitharaman/status/1402147151606476801 https://twitter.com/Amitkrchy1244/status/1402148998778023937 https://twitter.com/whoDeepakAhuja/status/1402120752518684676 https://twitter.com/sharan_ca/status/1402107611508400130 The new website is integrated with the immediate processing of Income Tax Returns to issue quick refunds to taxpayers. The income tax department said that the facility for preparation of ITRs 3, 5, 6 and 7 will be made available shortly.
