Before the deal was confirmed, Elon Musk stated five things that he would change on Twitter once he takes over.

New Delhi: On April 25, Tesla CEO, Elon Musk finally acquired Twitter with a $44 billion cash deal after an uncompromising pursuit to get complete ownership. Reportedly, Musk brought each share of the micro-blogging site at $54.20 (approx Rs 4,100). This made the Tesla CEO close Twitter from being private, which will happen after things get formalised.

Let’s take a look:

Pranay Pathole, a software developer who had several previous interactions with Musk stated that the latter will focus on five issues mainly. These issues will be changed to make the platform’s algorithm open source, meaning that anyone can get access to Twitter’s code.

Earlier this week, Musk said that he will eliminate the scam bots that have hurdled the working of the micro-blogging site. Besides, in a tweet, he also said that he will end spam bots on Twitter or “die trying.”

Further, Musk will bring in the much-demand edit feature that will enable the users to edit their tweets after being posted. Musk has always been in favour of the edit feature and also conducted a Twitter poll just after acquiring his 9.2% stake, asking Twitterati if Twitter should have an edit button.

Another thing that Elon Musk has been vocal about is his strict adherence to free speech. On many occasions, Musk has criticised Twitter’s regulation tactics and features, and if he takes over the micro-blogging site, he wishes to make the platform adhere to free speech. Musk has criticised regulations and expressed his desire to have a free speech platform on several occasions. It will need work to figure out how to avoid misinformation, fake news, and hate speech on Twitter.

Lastly, Musk will make the verification simpler, Pathole’s tweet said. This will make the users go through a simpler and quicker process to follow.
