Beware! Rumour-mongering on Covid-19 vaccination will invite action, says Yogi govt

Uttar Pradesh maintains a rare distinction of conducting highest Covid-19 testing and vaccinating people. When other big states could barely managed over 1 lakh Corona tests, UP conducted about 2 lakh tests per day, recently it crossed 3 lakh/day.

New Delhi: In a bid to get rid of ‘vaccine hesitancy’ among people and those accentuating this belief, Yogi Adityanath government has decided to act against those spreading rumours or canards on Covid-19 vaccination.

According to Organiser, those spreading rumours about Corona vaccine will now be booked by the UP government under Epidemic Law.

The state government is understood to have discussed the modalities of putting this law into effect and has briefed the officials for effective implementation.

The move comes in wake of fake agenda and propaganda of Opposition parties in the state. Inspite of aiding and amplifying the scale of vaccination, they have resorted to rumour-mongering and injecting fear in minds of people, thus prompting the state govt to rein in such diversionary elements.

Samajwadi party, being the main rival party in state, was caught red-handed engaging in rumour-mongering. Last year, Akhilesh Yadav called vaccine, a BJP vaccine & vowed not to take it but in the second wave, his own family members were getting inoculated.

UP ahead of all states in Covid testing & vaccination

In vaccination also, UP maintains the numero uno position. Out of about 25 crore vaccinations, the state has reportedly inoculated more than 2 crore people. Even in 18-45 age category, substantial progress has been made.
