Covid-19: 79,000 people in last 24 hrs, recovery rate reaches 83.70%

For 10 days in a row, the country has managed to keep active Covid-19 cases below 10 lakh mark. The number of recovered patients has overtaken active cases by more than 5 times now.

With over 12,000 patients cured in last 24 hours, recovery rate improves to 58.67%

New Delhi: There has been a continuous increase in the number of patients recovering from COVID-19. With recovery of about 79,000 patients in past 24 hours, the total number of recovery now stands at 53.50 lakh. The recovery rate has climbed to 83.70%.

Gap between recovered cases and active cases is growing wide while rise in recoveries has ensured that actual caseload has reduced to 14.74% of total positive cases.

For 10 days in a row, the country has managed to keep active Covid-19 cases below 10 lakh mark. The number of recovered patients has overtaken active cases by more than 5 times now. According to Health Ministry, the high recovery rate is fuelled by 9 States and Union Territories with recovery rate of over 80%.

Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate stands at 1.56 per cent, which is much lower than global average.

Record 7 lakh Covid-19 tests conducted in a day, recovery rate rises to 69%

In last 24 hours, 81,484 cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases to over 63 lakh.
Current number of active cases stands at 9.42 lakh.1,095 deaths were reported in 24 ours, taking death toll to 99,773.

Nearly 11 lakh COVID samples were tested in the country in last 24 hours. Total tests has reached almost 7.70 crore now. India continues to be one of the countries across the world conducting highest number of daily tests.
Average daily testing has increased by almost 4 times in recent two months. For last few weeks, daily tests have remained consistently above 10 lakhs.

The recovery rate from the coronavirus on Thursday had been put at 19.89 per cent by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Despite increase in testing, the positivity rate remains low and hovers around 8.4%. Bihar, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Manipur, Jharkhand and Telangana are states with positivity rate lower than 5%.
