Covid-19: Highest single day recovery of 95,000 in last 24 hours, recovery rate improves to 79.28%

Covid-19 Bulletin: The recovery rate of COVID-19 has improved to 79.28 per cent, with total recoveries reaching 42 lakh. Of the new recovered cases, about 60% are from 5 states – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

New Delhi: In record-setting numbers, the nation on Saturday registered highest recovery from the Coronavirus. A record 95,880 Covid-19 patients recovered from the virus, making it single highest day recovery in past 24 hours.
The recovery rate of COVID-19 has now improved to 79.28 per cent, with total recoveries reaching 42 lakh. Of the new recovered cases, about 60% are from 5 states – Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

The Health Ministry said that India has overtaken the USA and become number 1 in terms of global COVID-19 recoveries. The constantly increasing recoveries have ensured that the actual caseload of the country goes down and currently comprises only 19.10% of the total positive cases. Currently, the total number of active cases in the country is 10.13 lakh. The Ministry said, effective implementation of Centre’s strategic and graded ‘Test-Track and Treat’ approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality.

Covid recovery

The Case Fatality Rate stands at 1.61%, which is one of the lowest globally. In past 24 hours, 1,247 deaths were reported taking the toll to 85,619. The Covid-19 tally has crossed 53,93,337. Top 5 contributing states include Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Uttar Pradesh.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), more than 8.81 lakh tests were conducted in last 24 hours while the total number of samples tested so far has reached 6.24 crore.

The testing strategy has ensured a steady expansion of national lab network.With 1,060 government labs and 708 private labs, a total of 1,768 labs are providing comprehensive testing facilities to the people.
