Covid-19: Major milestone for India as recovered cases cross 1 crore

Covid-19: Only 20,346 cases were reported in last 24 hours. The gap between the recovered patients and active cases in the country has further widened and the number of recovered patients stands at 44 times the number of current active cases.

New Delhi: Leading a sustained fight against Covid-19, India achieved a major milestone on Thursday as the number of recovered cases crossed 1 crore mark.

The total number of cases having successfully recovered from viral contagion surpassed tally of 1.16 crore today.

The rate of new daily infection also continues to remain below with only 20,346 cases being reported in 24 hours. The gap between the recovered patients and active cases in the country has further widened and the number of recovered patients stands at 44 times the number of current active cases.

The active caseload in the country comprises of about 2.28 people and currently stands at 2.19%. Out of these nearly 60% are under home isolations and have mild to very mild symptoms.

The national cumulative recovery rate continues to register gradual improvement and stands at 96.36 per cent with recovery of over 19,587 in 24 hours.

The Health Ministry said that this has also resulted in decline in fatality rate which stands at 1.45 per cent. It informed that 222 case fatalities were reported in last 24 hours.
