COVID-19: Recovery rate improves to 92.41%, active caseload drops to 5.16 lakh

New Delhi: The country’s COVID-19 recovery rate has improved to 92.41%. During last 24 hours, more than 53,000 COVID patients have recovered. The Health Ministry said the total number of recoveries has gone up to over 78 lakh.

The actual caseload currently comprises 6.11% of the total positive cases. Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is 5.16 lakh.

According to Health Ministry figures, 77% of new cases are from 10 States and Union Territories. Delhi has overtaken Maharashtra and Kerala and reported 7,178 new cases in the last 24 hours. Kerala has recorded seven thousand two new cases and Maharashtra has reported six thousand 870 new cases yesterday.

50,357 fresh Corona cases were reported in last 24 hours, taking total number of positive cases in the country to over 84 lakh. The Ministry said that effective implementation of the strategic and graded Test, Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality.

Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.48%, which is one of the lowest globally. With 577 deaths, the total death toll moved to 1,25,562.
Health Ministry said more than 27.9% of new fatalities were reported from Maharashtra with 161 deaths followed by Delhi’s 64 deaths.

According to ICMR, more than 11.13 lakh tests were conducted in 24 hours, taking the cumulative figure to 11.65 crore.
