Covid-19: Recovery rate reaches 96.16%, total recoveries near 1 crore

‘India’s present active caseload consists of just 2.39 per cent of India’s Total Positive Cases. The new recoveries of 20,923 in the last 24 hours have led to a net decline of 2,963 in the Total Active cases,’ the Health ministry said in a statement.

New Delhi: With continuous decrease in number of fatalities and recoveries exceeding active cases, India is steadily winning the battle against Covid-19 pandemic.

As of now, the Covid-19 recovery rate has reached 96.16% with about 20,963 Corona patients recovering during last 24 hours. According to Health Ministry, the total number of recoveries has gone up to 99.27 lakh.

‘India’s present active caseload consists of just 2.39 per cent of India’s Total Positive Cases. The new recoveries of 20,923 in the last 24 hours have led to a net decline of 2,963 in the Total Active cases,’ the Health ministry said in a statement.

Presently, the total number of active cases in the country is 2.47 lakh.

During past 24 hours, 18,177 new cases were reported taking the total number of positive cases to over 1.3 crore. The Ministry said that graded Test, Track and Treat approach has led to higher recoveries and lower fatality.

Currently, India’s Case Fatality Rate is at 1.45 per cent which is one of the lowest globally. During last 24 hours, 217 deaths were reported taking toll to 1.49 lakh.

According to Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), over 9.58 lakh tests were conducted during last 24 hours. The total number of samples tested so far has gone up to 17.48 crore.
