Covid-19: With over 32.50 lakh treated, number of recovered cases is 3.7 times of active cases

6% growth in new Corona cases in last 24 hours, lowest rate since 100 mark

New Delhi: With around 90,000 fresh Corona cases for many consecutive days, india overtook Brazil as 2nd worst-affected country. But, the recovery rate has ensured that India’s battle against the virus remains strong and static.

Today, the overall recovery rate stands at 77.31%. It was markable recovery of over 32.5 lakh from COVID-19 so far and 70,000 patients recovered from the highly infectious disease in last 24 hours.

According to Health Ministry updates, the number of recovered patients in the country has improved over 3 times in a span of one month. The number of recovered patients has overtaken the active cases by nearly 3.7 times. The Health Ministry has informed that the actual caseload of the country currently comprises only 20.99% of the total positive cases.

In the last 24 hours, 90,802 new cases have been reported taking the total number of positive cases to 42 lakh 4 thousand 614. Maharashtra , Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka , Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh together account for over 50 per cent of the confirmed cases added in the last 24 hours.

Presently, the total number of active corona cases in the country is 8 lakh 82,542. In the last 24 hours, 1,016 deaths have been reported taking the toll to 71,642. Over 7.20 lakh COVID samples were tested nationwide in the last 24 hours by nearly one thousand 655 labs in the country.

Corona treatment

The country has witnessed significant stepping up in it’s COVID testing capacity in the last 5 months. From just 160 labs testing Covid samples on 23rd of March this year, the country today has one thousand 28 government labs and 627 private labs. So far, with an overall testing figure of 4 crore 95 lakh 51 thousand 507, the nation has also been able to maintain remarkably low positivity rate of below 8.5 per cent.
