CM Rupani repays his debt to ‘Guru’, makes contribution to Teachers’ welfare fund

On Teachers’s day, Gujarat CM Vijay Rupani gave his contribution to the students who had reached his residence to collect voluntary donations for the Teachers’ Welfare Fund.

New Delhi: Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani on Saturday donated his contribution to the Teachers’ Welfare Fund to repay his debts to the teaching community.

He gave his contribution to the students who had reached his residence to collect voluntary donations for the Teachers’ Welfare Fund. He also exchanged pleasantries with them.

Others who joined include District Collector Mr. Kuldeep Arya, District Development Officer Shalini Duhan, District Education Officer Mr. Vadhare and other officials.

Gujarat will implement NEP 200 first, says Rupani

Gujarat Chief Minister said that his government aims to become the first to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and will soon form a task force to create a road map for the same.

Rupani was speaking at an event organised in Gandhinagar to felicitate 44 teachers on the occasion of the Teachers’ Day.

“The new NEP has been translated into Gujarati, and a task force is being formed to make a road map for Gujarat soon,” the chief minister said.

On the basis of this road map, the state will make drastic changes in education, right from primary to secondary and higher education, from KG to PG (kindergarten to post graduation), he said. “Gujarat should become the first state to implement the education policy. We should move ahead fast to become a role model for creation of India of the future,” Rupani said to the gathering.

It is because of the strength of teachers and schools in the state that his government has “reversed the trend” whereby parents are shifting their children from private to government schools, the chief minister said.
