Delhi University cut-offs are likely to soar upwards as 70k students score over 95% in CBSE class XII: Details here

The first cut-offs are likely to announce on September 8-10. The registration for nearly 70,000 seats available for UG courses will start on August 2.

New Delhi: As Over 70,000 students scored more than 95 per cent in CBSE Class 12 Boards this year, the Delhi University cut-offs are going to be on the higher side than previous years, according to college principals. Once the registration starts, the cut-offs are likely to increase even further.

The first cut-offs are likely to announce around September 8-10. The registration process for nearly 70,000 seats available for undergraduate courses will start on August 2.

Anju Srivastava, Principal, Hindu College, said “With the high number of students scoring more than 95 per cent, we have no choice but to keep the cut-offs on the higher side. We have a limited number of seats for every course and despite the very high cut-offs, we end up admitting students above the sanctioned strength”.

Lady Sri Ram College principal Suman Sharma said they will have a meeting with their college officials over cut-offs and noted that it is too early to comment. Last year, LSR College had the first cut-off of 100% for three programmes, and 30 programmes across colleges had cut-offs over 99%. The number of colleges and courses opening with a 100% cut-off in the first list could go up this year.

Miranda House College Principal Bijayalaxmi Nanda, however, said “I expect it to be slightly calibrated. But we also have to wait for other state board results. DU does not go by simply the CBSE board results”.

“From whatever information we are getting right now, it appears that the cut-offs will increase. But more can be said once the results have been properly analysed. The colleges will now have to analyse and decide. We are also waiting for the remaining state boards to release their results, after which we will have more clarity,” said DU’s Admission Committee chairperson Rajeev Gupta.
