New Delhi: Delhi University Students’ Union on Wednesday met with the Dean Of Admissions, University Of Delhi regarding the process of admissions. DUSU raised the grievances of students looking for admissions and asked for their immediate redressal.
Multiple queries of the students were brought up by DUSU and discussed in the meeting including the website crashes in past two days, rejection of the caste and PWD certificates by the colleges due to the non-renewal etc. Dean of Admissions has assured DUSU that the problems will be addressed and solutions implemented at the earliest. The Dean also assured DUSU that she has discussed these issues with the colleges too and will look for their redressal at the earliest.
Pradeep Tanwar, Vice-president, DUSU, said, “It is our responsibility to work towards the welfare of the students and take steps to address their grievances. We henceforth held this meeting so as to address these issues and bring about the desired solutions’’
Shivangi Kharwal, Joint Secretary, DUSU said ‘’Since the Admission procedure is completely online this session, the frequent website crashes have resulted in a lot of stress for the students. We demanded that this problems be addressed at the earliest. We also demanded that such students whose forms were rejected because of non-renewal of their caste certificates must be provided an option where they could be admitted after submitting an undertaking.
DUSU also raised the issues being faced during the fee payment by students. The administration has assured us that they shall fix these problems in a day or two. DUSU will keep striving to make the admission process smooth for all the students.”
