GBSHSE Class 10 exams cancelled, decision for Class 12 exams on May 26

For the students who had registered for the Class 10 exams privately and those who have no internal assessment, the government may hold an examination.

New Delhi: Chief Minister of Goa, Pramod Sawant announced on Sunday that the state government had decided to cancel the state board examinations for Class 10 students. Talking about the decision on state board exams for class 12 students, he said that the government will decide on May 26.

Sawant is the Chief Minister of the state who also holds the education portfolio said, “I am aware of the stress that Class 10 students and their parents have been going through.” Sawant said that the senior officials of the department consulted with the institutions in the state due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation. He also said that the decision has been taken after considering all the variables.

“We have come to this decision that Class 10 examinations will be cancelled. Students will be promoted based on the assessment of their internal marks. If based on internal marks, one subject gets left out, the student will be allowed ATKT (allowed to keep term),” Sawant said on Sunday.

For the students who had registered for the Class 10 exams privately and those who have no internal assessment, the government may hold a one-day or three-day examination. He also said that the same exams will be conducted for the students who might choose Science stream or those who want to pursue diploma courses. The tentative date for the exams is towards the end of July, Sawant said while adding that students will get a 15-day heads up before the actual date of the examination.
