Gurugram girl on a mission to empower the deprived & underprivileged

Kavya is also the founder of the “EduLove” project, which has brought sponsorship to the education of over 50 underserved children.

New Delhi: Kavya Kapoor, a 16-year-old student from Pathways School, Gurugram, has left no stone unturned in her work to uplift women through various avenues. Her research work on the mental health of women athletes in North India was just the beginning.

One of Kavya’s most inspiring projects is her work with the boatmen community—Raikar— in New Delhi. Kavya not only generated jobs for these women by launching a variation of the Indian traditional drink “Thandai” as a product into the market, but also ensured that they built on the skills they already demonstrated, such as cooking and packaging to sustain their employment in the future, thereby creating a ripple effect of change.

Kavya is also the founder of the “EduLove” project, which has brought sponsorship to the education of over 50 underserved children. As she works hard to scale that number higher and higher each passing month, Kavya is making sure that her work makes a real difference in the lives of women and children in her community.

Kavya says that she is motivated to start her work with women after seeing the challenges they faced in her community.

“I have seen how many women struggle to make ends meet. I wanted to do something to help them, and I knew that I could use my skills and education to make a difference,” she says.

Kavya’s work has been praised by many, including her teachers and community leaders. “Kavya is a truly driven young woman,” said the founder of Pragati NGO. “She is passionate about making education and employment accessible to all, and she is always looking for new ways to make that happen.”

Kavya is an example of how one person can make a difference in the world. She truly demonstrates the sentiment youth is the guiding light of our generation, and her work is an inspiration to us all.
