New Delhi: Recently, a mock interview video of UPSC CSE 2019-2020 candidate Aashima Goyal was released by the Drishti IAS youtube channel. Aashima achieved 65 rank in CSE 2019. The 30 min-long video is a serious confidence booster as you can see how smartly she answered the questions she didn’t know the answer to.
Aashima was a student of bio-chemistry and had worked in Taiwan and Montreal, before deciding to join Indian Civil services. Despite her good academic record and work experience, she still didn’t know the answer to some questions. She stumbled on some of the answers as well. She kept her cool, answered to best of her capabilities, while maintaining a pleasant demeanor. In the end, she emerged as a winner.
Her interview reminds everyone that academic knowledge is not enough in such interviews. These are also a test of a person’s thinking skills and how the person deals with pressure.
