JEE Mains 2021 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) begins, more than 6.50 lakh students to appear for the test

JEE Mains 2021 Paper 1 (BE/BTech) begins with new question paper pattern.

New Delhi: Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Mains) for students aspiring to be an engineer will start from today. The examination will take place from 24th-26th February.

According to reports, more than 6.5 lakh students have registered for the exam.

A total of 6,52,627 candidates will take the JEE Main 2021 Paper 1. Of these, 6.09 lakh would be appearing for the English Examination, while, 22,758 have chosen Hindi as the medium of instruction. Also, 19,980 students have opted for examination in regional languages.

New Education Policy - 2

This year, JEE Main Exam 2021 is conducted in 13 languages across the country. After the New Education Policy (NEP) was announced last year, this year National Testing Agency decided to conduct JEE Mains in Telugu, Tamil, Punjabi, Urdu, Odia, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Bengali, Assamese and Gujarati languages, besides English and Hindi. The exam will be conducted across 881 exam centres in the country.

The first shift would be 9 am to 12 pm; while the second shift would be 3 pm to 6 pm.  These examinations are being conducted only in computer-based test CBDT mode.

According to the National Testing Agency, the examination centres will be fully sanitised during the gap between the two shifts. Face masks and sanitizers will be provided to the students. Body temperature will be also checked before students enter the examination centre. Students have to reach 2 hours before the exam and also distancing will be maintained between students and also between computers during the exams.
