Karnataka cancels 2nd PUC exam, SSLC delayed to July 3rd week

Many states have already cancelled the Board exams including Gujarat, Uttarakhand and Rajasthan. Other states are going to take a decision in coming days.

New Delhi: Karnataka government has cancelled the State Board Exams 2021 for 2nd PUC. State Education Minister S. Suresh Kumar announced the decision on pending Karnataka SSLC, PUC Exams 2021 on Friday. He said that the government had done all the preparations but half of the students were not ready to give exams in such dangerous times.

Hence, the state govt. decided to cancel the 2nd PUC exams while postponing the SSLC exams 2021 to the 3rd week of July.

Suresh Kumar also said that the decision to cancel the PUC exams was taken after receiving feedback from various stakeholders. As for Karnataka SSLC, only two exams will be conducted in 3rd week of July – one for language other based on science and mathematics in a multiple choice questions format.

Earlier, state govt. had indicated to conduct the examinations but after CBSE cancelled the Class 12 board exams, students demanded the state govt. to do the same.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while announcing the decision to cancel CBSE 12th Examination had also asked all to be sympathetic towards the students. Speaking on the same, Kumar today said that the decision to scrap 2nd PUC Examination was taken keeping the safety and concerns of the students in mind.
