Karnataka Schools: Next academic session to begin from July 15

Covid 19 continues to make it difficult for schools to re-open in many states, as country reported 35,886 on Wednesday

New Delhi: Education Minister of Karnataka, S Suresh announced on Wednesday that the govt. is planning to start the next academic session from July 15. During a press conference in Bengaluru minister Suresh said, “We are planning to start the next academic year for schools from July 15. We have to keep in mind the Covid situation as well.”

While referring to a report by Premji University, which claimed that children are lagging behind in Maths due to the absence of regular offline classes, minister said the state govt. has the obligation to take care of their health along with the education.

To a question regarding the addition of Bhagawad Gita in the school curriculum, Suresh said that the government would consult experts and then a decision will be taken.

Covid Situation

Meanwhile, Covid 19 continues to make it difficult for schools to re-open in many states, as country reported 35,886 on Wednesday. Maharashtra continues to be the worst-affected with 23,179 cases. Karnataka, which is a neighboring state of Maharashtra has reported 1,275 cases on Wednesday, highest since December 9.
