
Pune imposes night curfew as COVID-19 cases spikes; schools and colleges to remain closed till Feb 28
New Delhi: With a sudden rise in coronavirus cases, the Pune Administration has re-imposed night curfew between 11 pm to 6 am, restricting the working of hotels, bars and restaurants.
Over 849 people has tested positive in Pune, Maharashtra on Saturday.
The Pune Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao stated on Sunday that public movement will be restricted as well. Only those working in or for essential services are permitted at night. Following all schools and colleges in the district will remain shut till February 28.
“From 11 pm to 6 am, no public movement will be allowed except for those involved in essential services, in view of rising COVID-19 cases. Schools and colleges in the district will remain closed till 28 February. New guidelines to be effective from Sunday,” Saurabh Rao stated.

The total cases in the state increased to 20,93,913 including 48,439 active cases and 19,92,530 total recoveries. The death toll in the state mounted to 51,753 including the new deaths, the state department said.
