Schools in Delhi to re-open in a phased manner from Sep 1

Delhi Schools Re-open: After a ravaging Covid wave in April-May, Delhi has been witnessing a downward trend in cases.

New Delhi: Schools in Delhi to re-open in a phased manner from September 1, said Sources on Friday.

According to reports, Classes 9th to 12th standard will begin from September 1st, while Classes for 6th to 8th standard will begin from September 8th.

Delhi Education Min Manish Sisodia said that it has been decided to resume schools, colleges, coaching activities in Delhi with all precautions.

Their coaching classes as well as all colleges/universities will be permitted to resume, he said.

Social distancing should be strictly followed and no student will be forced to come to the school. Consent of parents will be essential for students to come. If parents don’t permit then students will not be forced to come, they’ll not be considered absent either, said Manish Sisodia.

Earlier, Deputy Shief Minister Manish Sisodia had asked for feedback from parents, students, teachers, and principals for a decision on reopening educational institutions in the national capital and both students and parents suggested that school should be reopened.

After a ravaging Covid wave in April-May, Delhi has been witnessing a downward trend in cases.
