Seven Zonal Coordinating IITs conducts JEE Advanced 2022; check details here

Each subject again was divided into three different sections constituting different types of questions.

New Delhi: The Joint Entrance Examination (Advanced) 2022 [JEE (Advanced) 2022] was conducted by the seven Zonal Coordinating IITs under the guidance of the Joint Admission Board 2022 (JAB 2022) on August 28, 2022. The performance of a candidate in JEE (Advanced) 2022 will form the basis for admission to the Bachelors, Integrated Masters, and Dual Degree programs (entry at the 10+2 level), mentioned in clause 2). Approximately 61% students who registered for the JEE Advanced, took this test in order to secure a prestigious seat in the desired IITs. This exam was conducted in online mode across 7 IIT Zones & 216 Cities in India. The exam had two papers (both compulsory for each candidate) i.e. 

   Paper 1 – 9 am to 12 pm (3hrs)               Paper 2 – 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm (3hrs)

The students had to attempt 108 questions in 2 papers. Each paper consisted of 3 subjects. Each subject again was divided into three different sections constituting different types of questions. Below is the table for the question paper pattern which was similar to all the subjects :

As per our expert faculties this year the overall difficulty level was moderate to difficult. As per the averages of Paper 1 & 2, Physics was the easiest section to attempt. The Physics section mostly consisted of moderate-level questions. Physics was the section with the highest number of easy questions.

Chemistry was the toughest section to attempt. The questions were lengthy & tricky to attempt. The Chemistry section consisted of mostly moderate-type questions. Chemistry was also the section with the most number of difficult questions.

Mathematics was moderately challenging. It was a bit more difficult than Physics but easier than Chemistry. The Mathematics section mostly consisted of moderate-level questions. Mathematics section of Paper 2 was more difficult to answer than that of Paper 1.

  • Class-Wise Questions Distribution: 

Overall, questions from Class 12th syllabus were comparatively more (i.e, 34% more) than those from the Class 11th Syllabus .

  • Overall Review Compared to Previous Year

The difficulty level of the exam was a bit tougher compared to previous years as per our expert faculties. 

Physics was at the same level as the previous year

Chemistry was more difficult than the previous year.

Mathematics was a bit easier than the previous year.

  • Cut-Off Expectations 

This year we may see some increase in the final cut-off marks as compared to last year as the overall number of students appeared this year is more than last year.
