New Delhi: Recently, the corporate sector has witnessed trends like moonlighting, mass resignation, quiet quitting, and more. However, a new term is back and is trending- “quiet hiring” in the employment sector.

Quite Hiring trend started amid mass layoffs in several big corporate industries. According to the technical consulting and research company Gartne, “Quite Hiring” was named one of the nine workplace trends of the year.

What is Quite Hiring?

Quite hiring means, instead of hiring new workers, employers are reallocating their current employees with new projects or jobs within the company on a temporary or permanent basis depending on the need of the company. Quite hiring means a method to find new talent without hiring new full-time employees.

Gartner, in its report, said that quiet hiring plays a very important role in the employee’s life as it allows them to work on challenging assignments, this also helps them increase/expand their current skills, and learn new skills and techniques.

This also means shifting their current employees to the areas that need the most and on priority and discussing with them about its goals.
