Allu Arjun visits Puneeth Rajkumar’s family to pay his homage

Allu spoke to members of the late actor’s family, his brother Shivarajkumar and his wife.

New Delhi: Biggest Tollywood superstar Allu Arjun who is currently basking in the success of Pushpa: The Rise, paid a visit to late Kannada actor Puneeth Rajkumar’s home in Bengaluru on Thursday. Allu Arjun met Puneeth’s family and paid his homage to the legendary star.

Puneeth Rajkumar was the son of veteran actor Rajkumar. Fans fondly called him “Appu”- after the 2002 film in which he played his first lead role- and “Power Star.” Allu spoke to members of the late actor’s family, his brother Shivarajkumar and his wife. Pictures from the meeting surfaced on social media and have gone viral.

Taking to Twitter, Allu Arjun along with sharing a picture wrote some heartfelt lines. He wrote, “My Humble respects To Puneeth Garu . My respect to the rajkumar garu’s family , friends , well wishers & fans (sic).”

Previously, in December, he visited Bengaluru to promote his film Pushpa: The Rise. While talking to the media he said that he won’t be visiting Puneeth’s family. “Now, I have come for movie promotions and I don’t want to visit Puneeth Rajkumar sir’s family just because I’m here. I will travel back to Bengaluru specifically to meet his family and give my respects. That’s my duty and an expression of my affection and respect for his family,” he said.

Puneeth Rajkumar succumbed to a massive heart attack on October 29, 2021. The 46-year-old actors’ demise was mourned across Karnataka and elsewhere in India. Though Puneeth acted only in Kannada, he was friends with all the big names of the film industry.
