New Delhi: Famous lyricist and writer Javed Akhtar made the comparison between the Taliban and the RSS during an interview with NDTV.
Javed Akhtar said, “The way the Taliban are trying to build a Muslim nation, there are those who have the concept of Hindu Rashtra. These people have the same mentality. the Taliban is barbaric, and their actions are reprehensible, but those supporting the RSS, VHP and Bajrang Dal are of the same mentality.
Reacting to this statement BJP spokesperson and Maharashtra MLA Ram Kadam said that no film which involves Javed Akhtar will be allowed to be screened in India until he apologises with folded hands for comparing RSS’s ideologically to the Taliban.

He should have thought before making these remarks that people who are connected to the same RSS are running the government today. If their ideology was as same as Talibani then would he have been able to make these remarks? said Kadam on Twitter
During the interview, Javed Akhtar also said that a small group of Muslims in India is supporting the Taliban.
Javed Akhtar said, “There is a similarity between the Taliban and those who want to behave like them. Some Muslims in the country have also welcomed the Taliban’s rise to power in Afghanistan. There is a small group that discriminates between men and women and tries to push society back. ”
