New Delhi: SS Rajamouli, who was recently in Chennai and Hyderabad along with Ranbir Kapoor to promote ‘Brahmastra: Part One-Shiva’, in a new video explains the vision behind it. In the video, he talks about the origin and the idea of the Astraverse. The ‘Baahubali’ director seems to be impressed by the concept as it is a large-scale fantasy film based on Indian mythology.
In the video, Rajamouli says that Ayan Mukherji, the director of Brahmastra, told him about the idea in 2016. He added that he saw a lot of scope for visual effects and after multiverse and metaverse people will see the miracle of Astraverse. While explaining the Astraverse, Rajamouli says, “According to our sastra, we need five elements to live. The power that controls all these five elements is the Brahma Shakthi. Brahmastra is about the weapons that originated from Brahma Shakthi, and about the warriors who fight with the weapons.”
He was also impressed by the fact that the film depicts love as the most powerful weapon. According to him, Mukherji’s idea of love makes it his magnum opus.
The film is the story of Shiva who sets out in search of love and self-discovery. During his journey, he has to face many evil forces that threaten our existence as he faces his destiny. Brahmastra stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna Akkineni. There is also a cameo by Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan. The film is set to release on September 9 in Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam.
The film is produced under the banners of Dharma Productions, Double Negative and Fox Star Studios. The music in the movie is composed by Pritam while Pankaj Kumar is the director of photography.
