#BoycottPathaan: Hindu outfits call out ‘Besharam Rang’ for Deepika Padukone’s bikini colour

The song ‘Besharam Rang’ was released on December 12 and has become the new reason for the #BoycottPathaan trend.

New Delhi: The ‘Boycott Bollywood’ trend has hit a new low with Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone’s movie ‘Pathaan’ being boycotted for bold scenes and the use of “Bhagwa” bikini in the song ‘Besharam Rang’. Like many other films, ‘Pathaan’ is also facing a backlash on Twitter and while there is general public boycotting the film for various reasons, BJP and RSS workers have brought the bikini colour angle to it.

The song ‘Besharam Rang’ was released on December 12 and has become the new reason for the #BoycottPathaan trend. The song is sung by Shilpa Rao, Caralisa Monteiro, Vishal and Sheykhar while the lyrics are penned by Kumaar. The video shows Deepika dancing in different bikinis while romancing SRK.

The song is under public scrutiny for allegedly disrespecting the colour associated with Hinduism. Dr Prachi Sadhvi and BJP worker Arun Yadav were among the people asking fans to boycott the movie.

Meanwhile, there are people who are asking for a ‘boycott’ due to the bold scenes in the song.

‘Pathaan’ also stars John Abraham, Ashutosh Rana and even Salman Khan in a cameo. The film is directed by Siddharth Anand and SRK will be seen as an R&AW agent in the titular role. ‘Pathaan’ will release on January 25.
