Chhattisgarh elections: BJP launches ‘Modi ki guarantee’ manifesto, makes slew of promises

“Bhupesh Baghel is accomplished in making fake CDs, fake pen drives, and planting fake news in newspapers. It was through his fake claims and advertisements that he stayed in power for five years,” Shah said.

New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday released the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) manifesto for the upcoming Chhattisgarh Assembly elections. The manifesto titled ‘Modi ki Guarantee’ speaks a lot about party’s priority & preference in aligning its energy & forces under the leadership of PM Modi and then seek a mandate from the people of state in impending Assembly elections.

Home Minister Amit Shah released the manifesto. The manifesto makes it clear that the saffron party will bank upon the popularity of PM Modi rather than relying on regional satraps in the state elections too.

Launching the manifesto, Home Minister Amit Shah announced that if party is elected to power, the double-engine government will make Chhattisgarh a developed state over next five years.

“As mentioned in our manifesto, the BJP, if voted back in Chhattisgarh, will launch the Krishi Unnati Yojana, as part of which we will purchase 21 quintals/acre of paddy at the price of Rs 3,100. The amount raised from our purchase would be passed on to the farmers.”

He said that the manifesto was not just a promise but a firm resolve, a pledge that the party will strive to accomplish, if voted to power.

“We have also decided to give Rs 12,000 per year to all married women while filling one lakh vacant positions (in government offices) in two years. We have also resolved to build 18 lakh houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. We will also provide a grant of Rs 10,000 annually to landless farmers and set up 500 more Jan Ausadhi Kendras across the state,” Shahd added.

Amit Shah’s dig at CM Baghel

Shah also took a swipe at Chhattisgarh CM Bhupesh Baghel and said that he was a “pre-paid CM” of Congress.”

“If Baghel becomes the Chief Minister again, then thousands of crores of rupees will be withdrawn by swapping the ‘pre-paid’ cards daily,” he said.

Amit Shah also accused Baghel administration of ‘planting fake news’ in local papers.

“Bhupesh Baghel is accomplished in making fake CDs, fake pen drives, and planting fake news in newspapers. It was through his fake claims and advertisements that he stayed in power for five years,” Shah said.

Elections for the 90-member Chhattisgarh assembly are scheduled in two phases – on November 7 and 17. Counting of votes will take place on on December 3.
