New Delhi: Confirming the rumors about Shah Rukh Khan’s exit from Don 3, Farhan Akhtar on Tuesday dropped a cryptic post that left the fans disappointed.
The talented filmmaker, who helmed the first two super successful movies of the franchise (Don & Don 2), took to his Twitter handle and made the shocking announcement by penning down a cryptic note in which he talked about taking Don’s legacy forward.

In his tweet, Farhan praised the new Don actor without taking his name and hoped that the fans would shower him with the same amount of love and appreciation they showed to King Khan and Amitabh Bachchan.
The tweet read, “In 1978, a character created by Salim-Javed and portrayed by Mr Amitabh Bachchan with effortless elan, captured the imagination of theatergoers across the country. That enigmatic character was Don. In 2006, Don was reimagined and brought to life by Shah Rukh Khan in his own irresistibly charming way. From Don’s sardonic wit to his cool but menacing fury, Shah Rukh embodied his persona. As writer and director, I had a great time creating not one but two, ‘Don’ films with Shah Rukh and both experiences remain very close to my heart.”
In the same tweet, Farhan further confirmed Shah Rukh’s exit from his career-defining franchise saying, “The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr. Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A new era of Don begins in 2025.”
Before concluding his message Farhan also informed that Don 3 will release in 2025 by saying”A new era of Don begins in 2025.”

Earlier today, the director-actor received brutal trolling from furious netizens after he announced that his upcoming crime drama Don 3 will have a new actor playing the character of Don. His announcement angered a considerable section of SRK fans who flooded the comment section of Farhan’s social media profiles while chanting ‘No SRK No Don.”
Meanwhile, a source informed Pinkvilla that Farhan will release a teaser video of Don 3 attached to Sunny Doel’s upcoming movie Gadar 2 which will be hitting the cinemas on 11 August. As per the source, the skilled director is all set to drop the eagerly awaited teaser of Don 3 by the end of this week. While Farhan has not officially spoken about the New Don yet, many reporters claim that the actor casted by him as the new Don is nonother than Ranveer Singh.
