New Delhi: Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar hit the theatres on Friday with massive positive reviews already flooding the social media. The movie talks about a sharp-witted Gujarati man, played by Ranveer Singh who endures every hardship to protect his unborn daughter and shoo off the patriarchal norms prevailing in the society.

Directed by Divyang Thakkar, the family entertainer also stars Shalini Pandey, Boman Irani, and Ratna Pathak Shah in pivotal roles. Apart from Ranveer Singh, the co-actors’ performances have been heavily praised by the audiences after coming out of the theatres. Besides, netizens are leaving no space but quickly uploading their reviews about the movie on social media.

One of the fans tweeted that while watching the movie he had hearty laughter for the first 30 minutes and praised Singh’s performance in the film. Another fan wrote how Ranveer Singh should receive special applause for carrying out the role so skilfully.

Initially, Jayeshbhai Jordaar was set to release in October 2020. However, due to the Covid-19 pandemic and restrictions, the premiere of the film was postponed. The makers of the film instead of releasing it on OTT platforms waited for the cinema halls to reopen. 

The plot sheds light on an important social issue of eliminating female foeticide. Ranveer Singh plays the role of a traditional Gujarati sarpanch, who believes in equal rights between males and females in society.
