New Delhi: Following the immense success of his latest directorial venture Rocky aur Rani kii prem Khani, director Karan Johar has been receiving loads of praise from fans, critics and even celebrities.
The movie, which marked Karan’s comeback in direction after a long gap of 7 years has garnered over Rs 147 crore worldwide and climbed up to the 6th position in the list of highest-grossing Bollywood movies of 2023.
Overwhelmed with his movie’s tremendous success, Karan recently spoke to Bollywood Hungama about how he has been continuously receiving calls of praise and appreciation for his movie’s accomplishments from a great number of industry’s biggies including Anurag Kashyap and Rakesh Roshan.
However, that one phone call which stood out from the rest and made the director cry was made by non-other than renowned actress Vidya Balan.

Speaking about Vidya’s emotional call, the director told Bollywood Hungama that Balan loved his movie so much that she watched it back to back twice.
Continuing on the same, Karan stated that the actress’s soothing voice and heartwarming words for the movie made him tear up. He also told that Vidya made it clear that this is not her last call for him as she will ring him again after watching RRKPK for the third time.
Besides Vidya, Karan also opened up about his conversation with Rakesh Roshan and Anurag Kashyap who also dialled the 51-year-old director to make him happy and overwhelmed by their positive words for his movie. The director revealed that Anurag Kashyap and Rakesh Roshan not just appreciated his film, but also told him how m variety of audiences is admiring his work.
Finally, concluding his words, Karan expressed his joy over receiving positive feedback and praise from a number of Big faces of the glamorous industry and said that this is what all filmmakers and artists live for.
