New Delhi: Veteran Bollywood superstar Ranveer Singh recently graced Karan Johar’s controversial chat show Koffee with Karan Season 8’s first episode. Ever since then, the actor has been getting brutally trolled by the masses for allegedly telling a made-up story about his first meeting with his wife Deepika Padukone on the show.
On the KWK8’s sets, Ranveer, who shared the couch with his lovelady Deepika Padukone, opened up about a lot of aspects of his personal life including his affairs, marriage, struggles, relationship with Deepika, etc and fans fell in love with the unmatched chemistry and bonding the celebrity couple shares with each other.
However, things quickly changed for Ranveer when many of the netizens caught him shamelessly lying about his first encounter with Deepika Padukone and started slamming him for the same. One user even posted a video to prove that Ranveer’s story about his first meeting with Deepika is nothing but a scripted tale and the same is now going viral on the internet.

While interacting with the show’s host Karan Johar, Ranveer was asked about his first encounter with his wife Deepika Padukone. Speaking about the same, the Padmavat actor narrated the detailed story of his encounter with the actress and revealed that it was during the reading process of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2013 hit Ram Leela: Goliyo ki Raas Leela.
He said, “On her arrival, I was sitting on the table and the heavy door opened, he (Bhansali) has heavy doors as he lives by the sea, and a gush of wind comes from the sea and she (Deepika) came dressed in white chicken-Kari just like Sadgi ki moorat her hair is blowing and that is how she entered, I was like Oh my Gawd.”
However, his story unpleased many netizens who labelled it as a ‘made-up tale ‘ and started trolling him for the same. Netizens claimed that the actor’s story of his first meet-up with Deepika is exactly similar to the one he told about his first meeting with ex-girlfriend Anushka Sharma previously on Kofee with Karan 5 and the same can be also seen in the viral video.
Ranveer’s lies irks fans
Slamming the actor for his made-up story, one fan wrote, “This shows Bollywood is such a fake industry.” Another said, “This man his wife….I don’t know why I have this vibe that everything is scripted everything is fake… I don’t know..strong feelings.”
“The way I know he had it from Deepika when she saw he copy-pasted the same lines he had for Anushka to her”, read a third comment.
Ranveer Singh & Anushka Sharma’s affair
For the unversed, Ranveer Singh allegedly dated actress Anushka Sharma between 2010 to 2011 but the duo called it quits and went their separate ways by the arrival of 2012. 5 years down the lane, the actor found his love in Deepika Padukone and got married to her in 2018.
On the other hand, Anushka Sharma ended up falling for Asia’s most popular athlete and ace cricketer Virat Kohli with whom she first met while shooting together for a shampoo advertisement. The famed couple dated for about 3 years before finally exchanging the wedding vows in 2017.
