New Delhi: A day after Virat Kohli stepped down as India’s Test captain after leading the side for seven years, his wife and actor Anushka Sharma expressed how proud she is of his growth.
Taking to her Instagram handle on Sunday, Anushka shared pictures of Virat and recalled how his journey began in 2014. She wrote, “I remember the day in 2014 when you told me that you have been made the captain as MS had decided to retire from test cricket.”
Anushka also talked about how she has observed his “immense growth”.

While Anushka’s emotional post is winning hearts on the internet, a journalist by the name of Rohan Dua criticized her post, comparatively pointing out that spouses of no other Indian cricketer have made a ‘spectacle’ of their career.

He also added, “Such was the decency & resolve to stay away from glory & opulence of cricket that only recognizable appearance Tendulkar’s wife Anjali made was during his last match ! Not a word before/after. Kumble & Srinath had their moms jump out in joy during 1996 Titan Cup, with innocence.”
While many Twitter users were surprised at first on Dua’s senseless comparison, while some went on to educate him on minding his own business.
