‘Pushpa’ to ‘Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui’: Weekend watchlist for Netflix, Amazon Prime and more

New Delhi: The year 2022 started on a fun note with a long weekend, while also evoking nostalgia as the much-anticipated ‘Harry Potter 20th Anniversary: Return to Hogwarts’ was finally dropped on Amazon Prime in India on January 1.

Now as we are proceeding towards the second weekend of January, much awaited and popular OTT release awaits including Allu Arjun’s ‘Pushpa: The Rise’ and Naga Shaurya’s sports drama ‘Lakshya’.

Here, we’ve brought you a watchlist to binge watch into long-awaited fresh releases throughout the weekend: 

1. Pushpa: The Rise

The film which is based on red sandalwood smuggling in the Seshachalam hills of Andhra Pradesh, hit the theatres on December 17 has created a massive buzz among the social media users. The movie will be available on Amazon Prime in ‘Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada from 8PM onwards.

2. Chandigarh Kare Aashiqui

The plot of the film revolves around a weightlifting champion and fitness trainer in Chandigarh, who falls in love with the new Zumba instructor at his gym. Things go awry when he proposes to her, who later reveals she is a transgender.

3. Lakshya

Santhossh Jagarlapudi directorial Sports drama Lakshya, marks the 20th film of actor Naga Shaurya. The film also features Ketika Sharma, Jagapathi Babu, Sachin Khedekar, Satya, and Ravi Prakash in crucial roles.

4. Kaun Banegi Shikharwati

Release Date: January 7

The upcoming series is a comedy-drama with a unique take on a dysfunctional royal family. Naseeruddin Shah will be seen essaying the role of a king while Lara, Soha, Kritika, Anya play his daughters.

5. The Tender Bar
